The bell rang, signaling the start of another chaotic day at school. Samiksha Maheshwari, had barely made it through the morning assembly before she found herself walking toward her first class, lost in her thoughts. The corridors were packed, but her attention was solely focused on the boy who had been lingering at the back of her mind for weeks nowâAbeer Rajvansh.
It wasn't that she was obsessed she definitely was. No, it was far from that. Samiksha had a crush on Abeer. But it was more than thatâit was awkward. She was always the bold, confident girl when it came to everyone else, but when it came to him? She turned into a shy, blushing mess. Abeer didnât even know she had feelings for him. He was, after all, her best friend's brother. And her protective older brother, Vidyut, would never allow it.
âBas na, tujhko sahi me bata ke galti kardi that I have a crush on him. I thought you will help but here you are. Tujhe bohot mazze aate h na mera mazaak udane me, buri chudail kahin ki.â Samiksha muttered under her breath as she noticed Aarohi Rajvansh, her best friend, grinning at her from the corner.
Aarohi, always the mischief-maker, smirked. âOh, Iâll never stop. Your face gives everything away, you know?â
Samiksha rolled her eyes, her cheeks tinged pink. âI donât know what youâre talking about.â
"Sure you donât," Aarohi teased, nudging Samiksha with her elbow. "Look at him. Does he even notice you?â
Samikshaâs gaze immediately fell to Abeer, who was walking with his group of friends. He looked⌠the same. Serious, composed, and entirely unaware of the effect he had on her. He was always that wayânever paying attention to anything that wasnât important to him.
âHe don't and I know that but I don't care because i can't force anyone to feel something for me if I feel for them, also I would gladly choose admiring him from afar.â Samiksha said softly, almost to herself.
Before Aarohi could respond, someone interrupted their conversation. It was Rohan Awasthi, their classmate. He was âpractically an adult in their world of high school chaos. Rohan wasnât just any regular guy, though. He is the person who proposed Samiksha more than 100 times only to get rejected .
"Morning, you two," Rohan greeted, giving them a brief nod.
âHey, Rohan! Youâre up early today," Aarohi replied, her tone playful.
Rohan chuckled. âYeah I was just passing by, by the way hey Samiksha â
Samiksha just ignored him.
He greeted her again with a cheerful heyy but she just ignored his existence again.
And he walked from there feeling all insulted.
âHawww! Samiksha that was soo RUDE. Please do that againâAarohi's voice broke the silence. And with that they both burst out laughing.
âSaala Aashiq, uska 50 baar reject kar chuki still nahi sudhar rha. Sometimes I feel bad for him I mean kesa lagta hoga yaar jab aap kisi se pyaar krte ho aur woh aapko reject karde. Tsk. Tsk. â
Aarohi just rolled her eyes at this statement of samikshaâ han, toh Jaa and propose Rohan. Aapka kuye jitne bade kaleje ko thandak milegi â
âWtf was that. Wese kaleje (ŕ¤ŕ¤˛ŕĽŕ¤ŕĽ) se yaad aaya you know about that story.......-â
After a quick exchange about Samiksha's wierd 'bandar ka kaleja meetha hota hai' story. Aarohi's cassate was still stuck on her brother.
"Stop acting so innocent. We both know youâve been secretly swooning over Abeer," Aarohi teased.
Samiksha rolled her eyes. âIâm not swooning over anyone,â she retorted, though the pink hue on her cheeks betrayed her.
Aarohi smirked. "Keep telling yourself that."
---
Meanwhile, across the school, Abeer Rajvansh was already at his locker, talking to his friends about something importantâlikely football, since Abeer had a way of making even casual conversations sound serious. He was in his elementâcalm, composed, and indifferent to most of what went on around him. To him, high school was just another thing he had to endure before he could go on to bigger things.
But there was something about Samiksha that always caught his attentionâher fierce personality, her boldness in front of everyone, and yet her shyness when it came to him. He had noticed it for a while, but he had never bothered to dig deeper. After all, she was his best friendâs younger sister. Heâd always seen her as just thatâa little sister to protect. But that didn't stop him from being curious about her, especially with the way she behaved around him.
---
Later that day, the tension between Aarohi and Vidyut became more apparent. Vidyut, Samikshaâs older brother, was always protective of her, often joking about how no one would ever be good enough for her. He could barely stand the thought of anyone, especially his best friend Abeer, getting close to Samiksha. And whenever Abeer and Samiksha exchanged even the smallest amount of attention, Vidyut was always there, making sure no funny business went on.
After school, Samiksha sat on one of the bench near park. her mind wandered. She couldnât help but think about Abeerâhis deep voice, his serious expression, the way he looked when he was focused. But then her thoughts were interrupted by the sudden appearance of Avya Maheshwari, her older sister. Avya was about to start working with Ekansh in his company, and Samiksha couldnât help but notice the constant exchange of awkward glances between them when they crossed paths.
Avya was fun, carefree, and completely at ease with everyone. But she was also a little unpredictable. When Ekansh was around, though, she seemed⌠different. More serious. And it was hard not to notice the little sparks flying between them.
As the day went on, Samiksha couldnât shake the feeling that everything in her life was about to changeâwhether it was the awkwardness of her crush on Abeer, the growing tension between Aarohi and Vidyut, or the subtle but undeniable pull between Avya and Ekansh.
It was only a matter of time before everything came crashing down. And Samiksha had no idea just how much her life was about to change
The next day at school was a whirlwind of events, much like any other chaotic high school morning. Samiksha, still embarrassed by the previous dayâs interactions with Abeer, tried her best to avoid looking in his direction, but it was impossible. The moment she stepped into the classroom, there he was, sitting with his usual group of friends, his eyes already scanning the room.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly averted her gaze.
